Methodology
How long will the works take and how will everything proceed?
- We first make the mandatory work notification to FOD WASO after which a waiting period of 14 calendar days must be observed.
- Then we build up the hermetic zone. This can take from 1 to several days depending on the circumstances.
- We then carry out remediation work in the zone.
- Once the remediation work is completed, the area must be released by an outside laboratory. This is done through a release measurement that usually takes half a day.
- Once the results of this are available, we can break the hermetic zone back down.
- We first do the mandatory work notification to FOD WASO (14 calendar days waiting period).
- After this, the works will be carried out.
What is the difference between a hermetic zone and simple action?
A hermetic zone is used for all non-attached applications. It involves the removal of asbestos in an enclosed (hermetic) zone placed in negative pressure and provided with sashes for personnel and materials. During the works, daily air measurements are carried out by an external laboratory and after the works a measurement is carried out before the zone can be released.
Simple operation is possible for all bonded applications where there is no risk of damage to the asbestos application. The asbestos-containing material is hereby removed with additional protective equipment such as Tyvec and full face mask.
What is an incubator bag, and when is it allowed?
The incubator bag method is a limited permitted technique. Only in crawl spaces and/or other hard-to-reach areas may this technique be used. The incubator technique is primarily used when removing pipe insulation.
The technique involves attaching a plastic flap with an inner bag about 1 meter wide attached to it. Through gloves attached to it - similar to a baby incubator - the insulation within the bag can be reached and safely removed.
Do you also do lab measurements?
No, the law provides that asbestos removal and control measurements are done by different parties. Both the air measurements during the works and the air measurement to release the works are done by external, independent laboratories.
Baviron has the highest level of safety certification. Your project will be carried out according to the strictest safety standards.
