Lead-based paints and materials

In older buildings, lead can occur in paint and protective coatings on wood, metal and other substrates. During renovation, maintenance or demolition, this lead can be released in the form of dust or flakes, posing serious health risks to occupants, users and workers.

We specialize in the safe remediation of lead-containing paint and materials. We start with a targeted inspection and analysis to determine the presence of lead. Based on this, we determine the most appropriate approach: controlled removal, encapsulation or shielding, always in accordance with applicable safety and environmental regulations.

Why lead remediation is important

Lead is a toxic substance that accumulates in the body. Exposure can cause nervous system damage, impaired concentration and other serious health problems, especially in children and pregnant women.

Chrome-6 remediation

Safe removal of hazardous coatings

Chromium-6 (hexavalent chromium) is a hazardous substance that used to be commonly used in anti-corrosion paints and coatings, especially on steel structures, industrial plants and infrastructure.

Operations such as grinding, sanding, blasting or interior demolition can release chromium-6 particles. Exposure poses a serious health risk to workers and the environment and therefore requires a strictly controlled approach.

Health risks

Chromium-6 is a chemical compound that is highly corrosive and preservative, but very dangerous to health. It can cause cancer, asthma and other serious conditions when exposed through inhalation, skin contact or ingestion.

RCF fibers

Refractory ceramic fibers (RCF)

RCF are heat-resistant fibers used as insulation in industrial applications such as furnaces, boilers, steel and metal industries, petrochemicals, cement industries and incinerators.

They are physically very similar to asbestos: fiber structure, inhalation risk and release during degradation or maintenance. In Europe, RCF are classified as carcinogenic category 1B (CLP Regulation), falling under the regulations for carcinogenic and mutagenic agents.

Mineral wool

Glass wool and rock wool removal

Mineral wool (glass wool and rock wool) is a common insulation material that must be safely removed during renovation or demolition. The fibers can cause skin, eye and respiratory irritation.
